Estill Certification Program - Estill International Overview Estill International (EI) is the organization governing the Estill Voice Training™ Certification Program. The central mission of EI is to support its representatives in making effective voice training accessible to everyone. The Certification Program is one such service. Certified EVT representatives are recognized internationally for their extensive knowledge of the voice and for the innovative teaching techniques they employ. Because the Estill Voice Model was developed through extensive research and based upon scientific principles, it continues to be refined as research becomes available. As such, certified EVT representatives must fulfill continuing education requirements to assure consistent quality and expertise in the delivery of the Estill Voice Model, thus protecting the integrity of this unique system. Certification procedures are governed by Estill International’s Advisory Board and applied consistently in all countries where EVT is taught. The value of certification through EI is enhanced by the rigor of its examination standards. EI awards a Certificate of Figure Proficiency (CFP) to individuals who can demonstrate the basic options for voice control taught in EI-approved EVT Level One—Figures for Voice, and Level Two—Figure Combinations for Six Voice Qualities courses. The CFP is not an obligatory prerequisite for more advanced certification levels; however, the certificate is recommended before pursuing credentialing at any other level. More information about pursuing a Certificate of Figure Proficiency can be found in our Certification Manual. EI offers two sequential levels of certification for those who would like to teach Estill Voice Training™: Certified Master Teacher (CMT) and Certified Course Instructor (CCI). Both CMTs and CCIs are considered to be Estill Voice Training™ Representatives. The Certified Master Teacher (CMT) must demonstrate mastery of the Estill Voice Model, including the Figures for Voice taught in Level One and the Six Voice Qualities taught in Level Two. The CMT must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach Estill Voice Training™ to individuals and/or small groups. The CMT earns Estill International’s endorsement for teaching EVT in a private studio or classroom setting. More information about becoming a Certified Master Teacher can be found in our Certification Manual. The Certified Course Instructor (CCI) must demonstrate advanced understanding of the Estill Voice Model and the anatomy, physiology, acoustics, and research that are its foundation. Certification at this level indicates mastery of teaching Level One and Two courses in public. Estill International promotes CCIs as presenters of EVT in public courses and seminars. More information about becoming a Certified Course Instructor can be found in our Certification Manual. The certification levels, additional honors and privileges, and course administration procedures are detailed in the Estill International Certification Manual, Version 3.0.
